The official introduction distinguishes two modes. This is a difference in interaction, not evidence that one mode always produces better writing.
A
Chat Mode
Use individual messages to steer the exchange. The documentation includes suggested replies, making this the more direct starting point when your goal is conversation.
Plan first: who you are, what the character knows, where this scene begins and how much narration you want between replies.
B
Novel Mode
Follow a more narrative format focused on characters, settings and plot. At key moments, the guide describes up to four choices that can take the story toward different endings.
Plan first: the protagonist’s immediate goal, the obstacle and a consequence that makes the next choice meaningful.
02 / The spending switch
ProChat is a separate decision.
Mode determines the shape of the interaction. ProChat concerns the model resource you spend: the official FAQ says it uses ProChats and can be toggled in the chat window. It describes purchases and event rewards, but does not establish a current model name or a price in the pages we read.
Before committing a long story, try a short, ordinary scene with a clear goal. Look for whether the character answers the actual question, preserves the point of view and leaves you room to act. Treat this as a proposed evaluation method, not a benchmark we have run.
Long chats can outgrow the information an AI model can consider. BabeChat’s FAQ recommends saving an auto-summary as a user note and applying it to the room. A summary is most useful when it keeps facts and unresolved decisions, rather than every line of dialogue.
Stable identity. Names, roles and a few traits that should not change.
Current relationship. What each character knows and what has already been agreed.
Scene state. Location, time, goal and the last important event.
Open thread. The decision that belongs to you next.
An original neutral example: “We are adult bandmates preparing a soundcheck. The character sings; I manage the mixer. We agreed to lower the backing track, but have not changed the monitor level. Next we need to decide which level to adjust first.”
Read an automatic summary before saving it. A mistaken recap can preserve an error more effectively than a missing detail.
04 / When the room feels wrong
Find the cause before restarting.
Why does the character forget an earlier scene?
The FAQ describes finite model input capacity. Try the documented auto-summary/user-note route and keep the immediate scene brief. This is a workaround for context limits, not a guarantee of permanent memory.
Did a missing conversation get deleted?
Not necessarily. The FAQ says adult-content visibility can hide associated rooms; creator deletion or policy removal can also delete history. Check the setting first. If the room still cannot be found, official support requests the character name, approximate time and device/OS.
Is every character voiced?
No universal support is documented. The introduction explicitly limits voice availability to selected characters. Decide whether a specific character’s controls meet your needs before assuming voice is included.
Where is the English service?
The English FAQ directs English readers to babechat.us; the Korean catalog is at babechat.ai. Use the official English help for the mode, note and account instructions discussed here.
